Immigrant Rights 

 

 

The immigration issue is a major concern for the immigrant population that the Dolores Huerta Foundation works with.  The DHF is committed to achieving a comprehensive and just immigration reform with a path towards citizenship.

▪  March 2006:  Immigration forum Focus on Sensebrenner Bill- HR 4437 

▪  Organized 2 buses from Lamont to Los Angeles for Immigration March (3/26/06) 

▪  Assisted Arvin High School Students in their march from Arvin to Lamont (3/31/06) 

▪  October 2006:  Immigration forum 50 families received free legal consultations  

▪  Collected 1,144 signatures for post cards to Sen. Feinstein asking her to support McKain/Kennedy bill 

▪  Organized bus from Lamont to Bakersfield for Immigration March (4/10/06) 

▪  Helped organize largest Immigration Rally & March in History of Bakersfield. 50,000 attended  

▪  2007 Youth & Children’s March for Immigration Reform, Lamont, CA  

▪  Defeated Proposed City of Bakersfield Anti-Immigrant Resolutions
