Alternative Spring Break Program 

The Goal of the Alternative Break Programs are promote service and cultural exchange on the local, national and international level through hands on community based learning.  Students are immersed in diverse contexts with concrete challenges that heighten social awareness and inspire lifelong non-violent direct action.

▪  Established in 2005

   Since 2005, Over 70 students have lived and worked with Lamont, Weedpatch and Arvin families.

   Organized university financial aid workshops

   Tree planting beautification project w/ Kern County Parks and Recreation Department | Lamont and Arvin, CA

  Radio Interviews w/ Radio Bilingüe, Radio Campesina

  2007 Door-to-Door Freeze Surveys | Lamont, Arvin, Weedpatch, CA 

2008 Needs Assessment Surveys | Lamont, Arvin, Weedpatch, CA
